Since its inception, we have been fully dedicated to pursuing the best possible resolution for each and every consulting assignment we are engaged in. Our dedication derives from the understanding that the mission of introducing key professionals who would be the inspiration to your business; leaders who are flexible and open to changes in the workplace. Through our global network, mostly in the US, Japan, and China, K&A has been searching for and meeting numerous outstanding professionals over the last 25 years.
Our business and daily lives are facing rapid transformations by emerging digital technologies and business models which have fundamental impact on the existing products and services offered in the industry. These innovative new technologies such as AI, Big Data, Blockchain, IoT, and Fintech are also causing the need for re-evaluation of “Top Leaders”.
As the business landscape changes, the quality of successful leaderships also needs to be redefined. In this new digitally disrupted environment, it is ever more important for leaders to be able to have a long-term clear vision, to adapt to new environments, and to show humility and willingness to accept diverse inputs. Our task and goal are to connect these borderless professionals to you.
Although the word “disruption” normally has negative connotations, we could also find positive benefits in this new era of digital transformation. Nobuyoshi Kaneko, President and Managing Partner, has an unusual background as an entrepreneur who earned a master’s degree in divinity and entered the ministry. He then founded Kaneko & Associates in 1998. Since its establishment, K&A has built a strong reputation for excellence in executive consulting services for global firms from its base in California. In 2006, K&A opened an office in Tokyo to take advantage of our extensive network and technical expertise to provide timely service to clients in Japan, China, and other Asian countries.
In 2011, K&A was recognized for its executive search capabilities and certified as a member of AESC (Association of Executive Search Consultants), the organization representing world-class executive search and leadership consulting firms. Nobuyoshi has been nominated as APAC Council Chair and new AESC board directors for 2024.
K&A is also committed to SDGs. Since 2017, we have been supporting the activities of CWS Japan as a corporate sponsor. The history of Church World Service (CWS) arose from the relief efforts provided to Japan immediately after World War II. In 1946, CWS established an office in Tokyo, and after several name changes, CWS Japan was founded in 2011 for the purpose of providing emergency assistance for the Great East Japan Earthquake.
We believe that reviewing the existing training, evaluation, and appointment methods of independent directors is an essential element for corporate growth. On top of that, introducing a new system may lead to further developments for many Japanese companies. This is the reason why we established JSEEDS (the Japan Consortium for Independent Directors) so that we can educate and support the hiring of independent directors. From our experienced international perspectives, we will introduce advisory board members and independent directors who would meet the SDGs criteria of foreign investors.

Specifically, he or she should have international business skills required to obtain multiple foreign investors, a high level of expertise and knowledge that include mastery in accounting and taxation matters, and an ability to analyze business figures.
